Part Time Office Manager/Administrative Assistant
Shelton United Methodist Church is seeking an individual with office experience to oversee administration of the church. The successful applicant will work in a small office atmosphere with the pastor and volunteers, and will play a major role in internal and external communications.
The ideal candidate is well organized, has a strong attention to detail, a courteous and positive attitude, professional demeanor, the ability to work independently and well with others; demonstrates follow-through and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Administrative support for the Pastor (phone calls, scheduling, copy editing, maintaining files)
- Routine office management: preparing and publishing documents, answering telephones, interacting with visitors and members, calendaring, maintaining supplies, photocopying, coordinating maintenance of office equipment, etc.
- Facility scheduling
- Internal and external communications (e.g., monthly newsletter, website and Facebook)
- Oversight of volunteers
- Accounts Payable
A minimum of two years office experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
Experience with some contact database system a plus
This is a part-time position, sixteen hours per week, with a three-month probationary period. Schedule can be 2 full days, or half- days, several days per week. Final hire based on successful background check.
$13.00 per hour.
